Al Cavasin is a lifelong Michigan resident, raised in Detroit and currently lives in Concord in Jackson County since 1980. He has been married to his wife Linda for 33 years and has two grown sons, Damon, 33 and Anthony, 31. He also the proud grandfather of one with another grandchild on the way.

Business Experience

Al Cavasin in currently the President and CEO of the Great Northern Sentry Company in Jackson. Great Northern was founded in 1991 and currently employs 85 employees in the 19th State Senate District. Prior to starting Great Northern, Cavasin owned and operated two small businesses and has over 32 years of experience in contract management, management consulting, marketing, security and undercover investigations.

Cavasin is also active in promoting the Private Investigation and Security professions by serving on boards of State and National associations, including Michigan Contract Security Association, National Council of Investigation and Security Services, and the Michigan Council of Private Investigators. Cavasin also served on the Security Providers Advisory Commission for State Representatives Clarke & Peters. Cavasin is also the immediate Past Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Catholic Community Credit Union.

Cavasin was named the Greater Jackson Chamber of Commerce’s 2003 “Small Business Person of the Year” and received the 2005 Michigan Council of Private Investigators Professionalism Award.

Military Service

Cavasin proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
