National security group endorses Al Cavasin
CONCORD — State senate candidate Al Cavasin announced today he has won the endorsement of the National Council of Investigation and Security Services.
The group said they support Cavasin over other candidates in the 19th Senate District seat, which comprises Calhoun County and much of Jackson County, including the city of Jackson. Cavasin serves as the council’s first vice president.
“He has proven to us that he is a very capable and caring person who does not accept mediocrity and always strives to arrive at the best solution to whatever problem or task he undertakes,” said Brian P. McGuinness, chairman of the national council’s board. “Al is a creative thinker who has a proven track record as a businessman and as an industry leader.
“We have a lot of faith and confidence in Al Cavasin. We hope the voters in his district understand that he truly is an individual that puts his personal interests aside for the betterment of his community.”
Cavasin, a U.S. Army veteran who served in Vietnam, heads his own Jackson-based security services firm, the Great Northern Sentry Company. Cavasin’s success in starting his company and creating jobs was recognized by the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce in 2003, when it gave him its Small Business Person of the Year award.
“I’m honored to have won the support and recognition of my peers,” Cavasin said. “I have worked hard to promote and improve the private investigation and security services industry, just as I will work to foster a better job-creation climate for our state.”
